Regional Medical Director
Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The regional medical director is responsible for supervising and directing
all activities of the utilization review departments in their plan area,
and monitoring the medical care provided. Qualifications include board
certification in an approved medical specialty, a current Florida license
to practice medicine (or the ability to obtain one), demonstrated ability
to manage medical utilization, ability to meet NCQA standards and three
to five years progressive managed care experience. A master's degree
in public health or business administration is desirable.
